Mexia has gone 8-1 against Marlin recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mexia Black Cats will take on the Marlin Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Mexia is headed into Friday's following a draw, the team's first since the fourth. Neither they nor Connally could gain the upper hand on Tuesday so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, Marlin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Lorena.

Marlin's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5-1. Mexia's draw gives them a new season record of 2-6-2.

Mexia came up short against Marlin in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 2-0. Can Mexia avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
