            Softball Recap: Overton Bobcats vs. Cane Ridge Ravens        
        
		
        
        
            Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask Overton). They were the clear victors by  a  17-2 margin over the Cane Ridge Ravens on Tuesday. The  victory continues a trend for the Bobcats in their matchups with the Ravens: they've now won nine in a row.

 Kaliyha Finley-Gray made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   three  hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going a perfect 2-for-2 with four  RBI and one  run. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high.
 In other batting news,  Jailyn Norman was a standout: she scored three  runs while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances. Another player making a difference was  Hana Kajihara, who  scored a  run while going 2-for-2.
 Overton  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .759. They are  a perfect 8-0 when  they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Overton's win was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 8-4. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 14.4 runs over those games. As for Cane Ridge, their loss  ended  a  three-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 5-4.
 Coming up, Overton will face off against Martin Luther King Jr. Magnet at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Cane Ridge, they will square off against Hillsboro at 4:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
