Baseball Recap: Montgomery Takes a Loss

Montgomery was the 10-4 winner over Steele Canyon when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Aztecs fell 8-5 to the Cougars on Thursday. The Aztecs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cesar Abdul made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs. Those runs were his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of David Abdul, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one double.

Montgomery's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Steele Canyon, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-10.

Looking ahead, Montgomery will host Bonita Vista at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give the Aztecs their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Steele Canyon, they will take on Grossmont at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
