Kentucky added to its top-ranked recruiting class Saturday with a pledge from five-star prospect Hamidou Diallo of Putnam Science Academy (Putnam, Conn.).

247Sports has the 6-foot-5, 195-pound guard pegged as the No. 10 overall player in the Class of 2017. Diallo also considered Connecticut and had offers from Arizona, Indiana and Syracuse among others.

Diallo's pledge gives the Wildcats their sixth 2017 commitment and fifth five-star, joining 6-11 center Nick Richards of Patrick School (Elizabeth, N.J.), forwards P.J. Washington of Findlay Prep (Henderson, Nev.) and Jarred Vanderbilt of Victory Prep (Houston) and guards Quade Green of Neumann-Goretti (Philadelphia) and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander of Hamilton Heights Christian Academy (Chattanooga, Tenn.).

All six are rated in the Top 50 of the 247Sports Composite.

A native of New York, Diallo is actually NBA Draft eligible due to the fact that he has already completed high school requirements and is spending the year in prep school. There has been plenty of speculation and buzz that he might make the jump.

He returned home Saturday to the Big Apple to make the announcement in front of family and friends.

For now, it appears one of the nation's top guards is headed to Lexington.
