Football Recap: Edgewood Warriors vs. Lakeside Dragons
Edgewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost to the Lakeside Dragons on the road by a 36-18 margin. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Edgewood saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jj Dufour threw for 154 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 70 yards. The dominant performance gave Dufour a new career-high in rushing yards. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Michael Ochoa, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.
Edgewood's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Lakeside, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.
As of now, neither Edgewood nor Lakeside have any future games scheduled.
