Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Piles Up the Points Against Flomaton

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hillcrest had no problem doing just that on Monday. They really took it to the Flomaton Hurricanes for the full four quarters, racking up an 81-48 victory. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Hurricanes are ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Leading Hillcrest to victory were J.T. Barlow and Jasiah Grace. Barlow went 8 for 14 en route to 16 points and six boards, while Grace went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points. The match was Barlow's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Dorian Watson, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Hillcrest has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Flomaton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-15.

As of now, neither Hillcrest nor Flomaton have any future games scheduled.
