Recap: Southmont Mounties vs. Lebanon Tigers

The Southmont Mounties lost against the Lebanon Tigers back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Southmont falling 58-44. They have struggled against Lebanon recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Southmont's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aaron Mcmasters, who scored ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dawson Mason, who scored six points.

Kaden Lark was his usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with six rebounds and two blocks for Lebanon. Lark is absolutely dominating the point category: he's posted at least 15 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jack Ferrell, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Southmont's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Lebanon, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southmont won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Covington at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. Covington is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Lebanon, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Plainfield at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. One thing working in Plainfield's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
