Baseball Recap: Atkins Comes Up Short

Atkins fell victim to Dover and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates. The Red Devils have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Atkins' defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Dover, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Atkins will square off against Mt. Vernon-Enola at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Dover, they will take on Jasper in a tournament on Saturday.
