Volleyball Recap: Venture Academy Comes Up Short

Venture Academy lost against Franklin back in September of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Mustangs fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 2-1.

The 2-1 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Venture Academy lost were decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-22, 15-13.

Karen Castro was a one-woman wrecking crew For Franklin. as she had 26 digs and two aces. That's the most digs Castro has posted since back in October of 2024. Tonatzin Soria was another key player, getting five aces and four digs.

Venture Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Franklin, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, Venture Academy will welcome Humphreys Able Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Franklin, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Galt on the 23rd.
