Softball Recap: Starkville Yellowjackets vs. Northeast Lauderdale Trojans
Starkville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 13-8 to the Northeast Lauderdale Trojans. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-6 back in March.
Sadie Foote was cooking despite her team's loss, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Leigh Parker Morgan, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Starkville's defeat dropped their record down to 7-17. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.
Starkville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Northeast Lauderdale, they will host Clarkdale at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
