Basketball Preview: Nute Rams vs. Wilton-Lyndeborough Warriors
Nute has enjoyed a five-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Wilton-Lyndeborough Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Wilton-Lyndeborough took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Nute, who comes in off a win.
It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Nute ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They slipped by Pittsfield 63-62. Nute's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Meanwhile, Wilton-Lyndeborough's recent rough patch got a bit rougher two weeks ago after their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Mascenic Regional on the road and fell 64-26.
Nute's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Wilton-Lyndeborough, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.
Nute didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against the Warriors in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 40-35 victory. Does Nute have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
