Softball Recap: Tascosa Has No Trouble Against Palo Duro

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Lubbock-Cooper, Tascosa was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They blew past the Palo Duro Dons 14-1. The win was some much needed relief for the Rebels as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Emmi Whitehead was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over five innings pitched. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

In other batting news, Tascosa got a massive performance out of Kassidy Langeland, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. What's more, Langeland posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Boston Galvan was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Tascosa's victory bumped their record up to 17-21. As for Palo Duro, they dropped their record down to 3-20 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Tascosa is set to challenge their familiar foe Coronado at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Palo Duro will face off against rival Monterey at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
