Basketball Game Preview: Kaufman Lions vs. Red Oak Hawks

The Kaufman Lions will venture away from home to square off against the Red Oak Hawks at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Kaufman didn't have quite enough to beat St. Mark's and fell 52-50. While losing is never fun, Kaufman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 778th, while St. Mark's is ranked 173rd).

Meanwhile, Red Oak waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They snuck past the Gophers with a 44-39 win.

Kaufman has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only two points. As for Red Oak, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Kaufman might still be hurting after the 78-56 defeat they got from Red Oak in their previous meeting back in February of 2019. Can Kaufman avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
