Softball Recap: Nokomis Comes Up Short

After soaring to 15 runs the game before, Nokomis was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They lost 10-1 to the Greenville Comets. The Redskins were not able to make up for their defeat to the Comets from their previous meeting back in April of 2023.

Nokomis saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddison DeWerff, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits DeWerff has posted since back in March of 2024.

Nokomis now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Greenville, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Coming up, Nokomis is headed away from home for the first time to square off against Warrensburg-Latham at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Greenville, they will welcome Pana at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
