Baseball Game Preview: Dunkirk Marauders vs. Salamanca Warriors

For the second straight game, Dunkirk will face off against Salamanca. The Marauders will be playing at home against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunkirk's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Salamanca's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Dunkirk lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Salamanca, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's match. The Marauders were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Warriors on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Marauders, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Josh Lemanski made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, Greg Orcutt was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one double. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Paul Trippy was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Dunkirk pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Salamanca, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.
