Volleyball Recap: Half Hollow Hills East Comes Up Short

Half Hollow Hills East lost against Smithtown West back in October of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The RedHawks came up short against Smithtown West, falling 3-0. The shutout was out of character for the RedHawks seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-16, 25-14.

Smithtown West can attribute much of their success to Nicole Zarcone, who had six digs and six aces. That's the most aces Zarcone has posted since back in September of 2024.

Half Hollow Hills East's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Smithtown West, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-4-1 record this season.

Half Hollow Hills East will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Smithtown East at 5:45 p.m. on the 20th. As for Smithtown West, they will square off against West Babylon at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
