Basketball Recap: Woodville-Tompkins Gets the Win

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Woodville-Tompkins ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They managed a 49-45 win over the Toombs County Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Wolverines: when they faced off against the Bulldogs last Tuesday, they had to take a 66-48 defeat.

Toombs County's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mike Polke, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Polke is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Parker Stanley, who went 5 of 9 en route to 11 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks.

Woodville-Tompkins now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Toombs County, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodville-Tompkins has already played their next contest (against Hardeeville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Toombs County has also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Swainsboro.
