Baseball Recap: IMG Academy Silver Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

IMG Academy Silver won against University last Friday with nine runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. IMG Academy Silver came out on top against the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons by a score of 9-5. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Ascenders.

Henry Britt looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carter Rivera, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of JP Piles, who scored two runs while going 1-for-5.

IMG Academy Silver's victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-5. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-10.

Coming up, IMG Academy Silver will venture away from home to take on St. Petersburg at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for St. Petersburg Catholic, they will host Northside Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northside Christian's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so St. Petersburg Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
