Basketball Game Preview: Stuttgart Ricebirds vs. Dumas Bobcats

The Stuttgart Ricebirds will be taking part in a tournament against the Dumas Bobcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Stuttgart is headed into Saturday's game hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. Their2024 ended with a 60-44 loss against Jacksonville on Saturday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Ricebirds came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Titans are ranked 135th).

Meanwhile, Dumas won against Rector on Saturday with 54 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Dumas ended the year with a bang, routing Hector 54-33. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Dumas pushed their record up to 11-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.9 points per game. As for Stuttgart, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Stuttgart beat Dumas 55-42 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Will Stuttgart repeat their success, or does Dumas have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
