Softball Recap: Carroll Takes a Loss

Carroll came into their game on Saturday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Western Panthers, falling 10-1. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Chargers, who until this game were averaging three runs allowed.

Lauren Kirkpatrick was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Carroll's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Western, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

Carroll will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against East Noble at 5:30 p.m. As for Western, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 16-1 victory against Mishawaka on the 3rd.
