Hendersonville hadn't done well against East Rutherford recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Hendersonville Bearcats enjoyed a cozy 49-33 victory over the East Rutherford Cavaliers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 42-24 back in January.

Hendersonville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addison Reid led the charge by putting up 12 points. Addison Adams was another key player, scoring five points and 14 rebounds.

Hendersonville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Several Cavaliers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Faith Smith, who posted eight points along with seven boards and five assists. Those five assists gave Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Saige Harris, who had six points and four steals.

Hendersonville is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.7 points over those games. As for East Rutherford, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Coincidentally, Hendersonville and East Rutherford will both be playing Brevard the next time they take the court. East Rutherford will host Brevard at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Hendersonville will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on February 11th.
