Basketball Recap: Bryan County's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Friday

Bryan County won the last time they faced Emanuel County Institute and things went their way on Friday too. The Bryan County Redskins greeted the New Year with with a 66-51 win over the Emanuel County Institute Bulldogs. Given the Redskins' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 206th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 556th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Bryan County is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.8 points per game. As for Emanuel County Institute, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Bryan County is taking a road trip to square off against Jenkins County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Emanuel County Institute, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 69-53 loss against Portal on the 4th.
