Baseball Recap: Bancroft Takes a Loss

Bancroft had lost seven straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 0-2 to make it eight. They fell 6-3 to the Landmark Vikings. For Landmark's part, Theo Masella and Harry O'Connor were major factors no matter where they played. On the mound, Masella struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Meanwhile, O'Connor struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. At bat, Masella went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while O'Connor went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits Masella has posted since back in April of 2024.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jason Piscatelli, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Coming up, Bancroft will venture away from home to face off against Berwick Academy at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Landmark, they will challenge Brooks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
