Preview: West Nassau Warriors vs. First Coast Buccaneers
The West Nassau Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the First Coast Buccaneers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Nassau comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
West Nassau suffered their biggest loss since November 28, 2023 on Tuesday. They were beaten by Eagle's View 65-32. While losing is never fun, West Nassau can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 754th, while Eagle's View is ranked 329th).
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, First Coast's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a serious blow against Ribault, falling 76-49. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for First Coast in their matchups with Ribault: they've now lost five in a row.
West Nassau's defeat was their 12th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-15. As for First Coast, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6.
West Nassau was taken down by First Coast 67-29 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can West Nassau avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
