Basketball Game Preview: Glenwood Titans vs. Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones

Glenwood is 2-8 against Sacred Heart-Griffin since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Glenwood Titans just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Glenwood took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They breezed by Jacksonville to the tune of 65-7. Given the Titans' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while the Crimsons are ranked 591st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart-Griffin was able to grind out a solid victory over Springfield on Saturday, taking the game 49-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cyclones.

Sacred Heart-Griffin is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-13 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.7 points per game. As for Glenwood, their record is now 15-8.

Glenwood didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sacred Heart-Griffin in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 35-30 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glenwood since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
