After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Whiteoak, Western was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Piketon Redstreaks an 11-0 shutout. It was an even better day for Tyler Kerns as he scored three goals for his team.
Something new happened on Monday as Wesley Satterfield saw his first action of the season, playing five minutes against Piketon. Satterfield made the most of the opportunity, scoring a goal. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
The win got Western back to even at 2-2. As for Piketon, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Western will host St. Joseph Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
