Baseball Recap: Conway Comes Up Short

Conway dropped to 13-7 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They lost 11-1 to the Socastee Braves. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Tigers couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Socastee, they moved to 7-12 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. The matchup marked their most dominant win of the season.

For Socastee's part, Luke Johnson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. Johnson also tossed a walk, which is notable because Socastee is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-11 otherwise. Johnson was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Gavin Hartas was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Lane, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

While Conway had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
