Basketball Recap: Jimtown Jimmies vs. South Bend Adams Eagles
The Jimtown Jimmies won against the South Bend Adams Eagles last Tuesday with 57 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Jimtown enjoyed a cozy 57-43 win over the Eagles. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Jimtown.
Leading Jimtown to victory were Bishop Williams and Dylan Fey. Williams scored 18 points along with six rebounds, while Fey dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williams has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Spurgeon, who scored three points along with two steals.
South Bend Adams' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was David Hayo, who scored five points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that Hayo grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Amari Wesson, who scored eight points along with four steals.
Jimtown pushed their record up to 8-8 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for South Bend Adams, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jimtown will take on the Raiders at 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Northridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Jimmies in Indiana (the Raiders are ranked 49th, while the Jimmies are ranked 167th). As for South Bend Adams, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Indians at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
