Softball Recap: Academy of Careers & Exploration Takes a Loss

After flying high against Victor Valley last Friday, Academy of Careers & Exploration came back down to earth. Academy of Careers & Exploration lost 22-5 to the Burroughs Burros on Monday. The Eagle were not able to make up for their loss to the Burros from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Taylor Coffel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Academy of Careers & Exploration's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1. As for Burroughs, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-6.

Academy of Careers & Exploration will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Silver Valley at 3:15 p.m. on April 8. As for Burroughs, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Silverado at 3:15 p.m. Silverado will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
