Soccer Game Preview: Shorecrest Prep vs. Tampa Prep

The Shorecrest Prep Chargers will head out to square off against the Tampa Prep Terrapins at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Shorecrest Prep will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Shorecrest Prep is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand St. Petersburg Catholic a 1-0 shutout. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 29th, while the Barons are ranked 188th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Shorecrest Prep's one-goal win came courtesy of William Francis, who's now up to two this season.

Meanwhile, Tampa Prep's game on Friday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Berkeley Prep by a score of 2-0. The Terrapins haven't had any issues with the Buccaneers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Shorecrest Prep's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-0. As for Tampa Prep, their record is now 14-3.

Shorecrest Prep might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Tampa Prep in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Can Shorecrest Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
