Basketball Game Preview: Sterling Rangers vs. Beaumont United Timberwolves

Sterling hasn't had much luck against Beaumont United recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Sterling Rangers will challenge the Beaumont United Timberwolves at 1:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Sterling is headed into Monday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They were outmatched by Barbers Hill and fell 49-17. The Rangers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-5.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Beaumont United's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were dealt a 61-25 loss at the hands of West Brook. While losing is never fun, the Timberwolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 674th, while the Bruins are ranked 179th).

Sterling's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Beaumont United, their loss dropped their record down to 11-15.

Sterling couldn't quite finish off Beaumont United when the teams last played back in December of 2024 and fell 35-32. Can Sterling avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
