Volleyball Recap: Tess Schuler and Amanda Swiers Secure Win for Maple Grove

Maple Grove lost to St. Michael-Albertville back in October of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Crimson put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 3-0 win.

Maple Grove got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-23, 30-28.

Maple Grove was led to victory by Amanda Swiers and Tess Schuler. Swiers had four digs and three aces, while Schuler had ten digs. Swiers has been hot for a while, having also posted 13 or more assists the last nine times she's played.

Maple Grove pushed their record up to 1-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. Michael-Albertville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maple Grove will challenge Edina at 7:00 p.m. on September 4. As for St. Michael-Albertville, they will venture away from home to challenge Sauk Rapids-Rice at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
