St. Joseph-Ogden has gone a perfect 9-0 against Rantoul recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Spartans will head out to square off against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

St. Joseph-Ogden is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Tolono Unity on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Spartans were beaten by the Rockets 40-10. The Spartans were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Meanwhile, Rantoul was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Bloomington Central Catholic and fell 51-6. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 456th, while the Saints are ranked 102nd).

Rantoul's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for St. Joseph-Ogden, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Everything came up roses for St. Joseph-Ogden against Rantoul in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 53-0 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
