Basketball Recap: Lejeune Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Lejeune kicked off their season on the road on Wednesday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost to the Dixon Bulldogs on the road by a 72-54 margin. The Devilpups were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bulldogs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.

Dixon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Noah Wright, who shot 46% from the field on his way to 20 points along with seven boards and six assists. Those six assists gave Wright a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Grady Adams, who posted 13 points in addition to seven assists and four steals.

The victory got Dixon back to even at 1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Lejeune will venture away from home to face off against Swansboro at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Dixon, they are packing up and heading out for their first away game of the season: they will take on Heide Trask at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
