Recap: Caldwell Redskins vs. Buckeye Local Panthers
The Caldwell Redskins's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of Buckeye Local. Caldwell was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Buckeye Local apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Despite the defeat, Caldwell saw an underclassman step up: Laynie Sidwell scored 16 points along with three steals. Sidwell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Breighlee Moracco, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Caldwell's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Buckeye Local, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Caldwell will head out on the road to face off against Barnesville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Buckeye Local, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Catholic Central at 7:30 p.m.
