Baseball Recap: Desert View Takes a Loss

The matchup between Desert View and Cienega on Tuesday hardly resembled the 3-1 effort from their previous meeting. The Jaguars came up short against the Bobcats, falling 13-6. The Jaguars were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Cristobal Lorta made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Yadier Acu?a was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base.

Desert View has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-7 record this season. As for Cienega, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 13-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Desert View will challenge Tucson High Magnet School at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Badgers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Jaguars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cienega, they will take on Marana at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bobcats are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
