Softball Preview: Harrison County Thorobreds vs. Bryan Station Defenders
The Harrison County Thorobreds will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bryan Station Defenders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, Harrison County gave their fans yet another huge victory on Monday. Everything went their way against Fleming County as Harrison County made off with an 8-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Harrison County.
Isabella Persinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered one run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 12 Ks.
At the plate, Trista Ritchie was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with a home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Savannah White, who went 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Bryan Station won against Lexington Christian on Monday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Bryan Station narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Lafayette 11-10.
Harrison County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 19 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 28-6 record this season. As for Bryan Station, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.
