Basketball Recap: Madisyn Hurtt Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Clover Hill

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Matoaca, Dinwiddie was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the Clover Hill Cavaliers by a score of 60-50.

Dinwiddie's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madisyn Hurtt, who posted 20 points. Madison Batts was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Despite the loss, Clover Hill had strong showings from Brooke Elam, who put up 13 points along with six boards and three steals, and Olivia Kraft, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. That's the most points Kraft has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Prisha Gupta, who earned nine points.

Dinwiddie's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Clover Hill, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.

Dinwiddie didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-43 defeat against Hopewell on the 28th. As for Clover Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-25 loss against Cosby on the 28th.
