Baseball Recap: Morse Shipbuilders vs. Erskine Academy Eagles
Morse can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Erskine Academy Eagles. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Morse also won the last time the pair played back in June of 2023.
Oscar Nelson was excellent, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. Caden Wells was another key contributor, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Morse's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Erskine Academy, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.
Morse will take on Freeport at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Erskine Academy, they will head out on the road to challenge Leavitt at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
