Baseball Recap: Upper Perkiomen Extends Winning Streak to Four

Upper Perkiomen came out on top against Spring-Ford on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Indians had just enough and edged out the Rams 4-3. That's two games straight that the Indians have won by just one run.

Upper Perkiomen saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lincoln Fijalkowski, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Jordin Dice also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Upper Perkiomen, bringing their record up to 13-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Spring-Ford, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-3.

Coming up, Upper Perkiomen will face off against Norristown at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.69 runs per game on average), something the Indians will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Spring-Ford, they will challenge Perkiomen Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
