Softball Game Preview: Jefferson Lions vs. Blanchet Catholic Cavaliers

Jefferson is 2-8 against Blanchet Catholic since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Lions are taking a road trip to challenge the Cavaliers at 4:30 p.m. Jefferson has given up an average of 22.1 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Jefferson is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 14th straight game dating back to last season on Wednesday. They came up short against Taft, falling 23-2.

Meanwhile, Blanchet Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 18-8 to Willamina.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 0-13. As for Blanchet Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Jefferson suffered a grim 19-4 defeat to Blanchet Catholic in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
