Soccer Recap: Sumter Takes a Loss

Sumter was the 3-0 winner over Westwood when they last played one another back in February of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Gamecocks fell just short of the Redhawks by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. Sumter just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Sumter's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Westwood, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-8.

Looking ahead, Sumter will welcome Manning at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sumter will be up against Manning's rather soft defense (which has allowed 6.38 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Westwood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Buford at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
