Soccer Game Preview: Churchland vs. Nansemond River

The Churchland Truckers will head out on the road to face off against the Nansemond River Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Churchland is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.4 goals per game this season.

On Tuesday, Churchland made easy work of Manor and carried off a 9-1 victory. It was an even better day for Hailey Stewart as she scored five goals for her team.

Meanwhile, Nansemond River entered their matchup against Hickory on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Warriors fell 3-1 to the Hawks. Having soared to a lofty four goals in the game before, Nansemond River couldn't push the score so high this time.

Nansemond River's loss dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Churchland, they now have a winning record of 7-6-1.

Churchland suffered a grim 11-0 defeat to Nansemond River in their previous meeting back in March of 2019. Can the Truckers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
