Softball Recap: River View Takes a Loss

River View lost against Tri-Valley last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Black Bears lost 20-4 to the Scotties. The Black Bears just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Joann Thompson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Sam Mizer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

River View's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Tri-Valley, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. River View will head out to square off against Meadowbrook at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Black Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Colts have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season. As for Tri-Valley, they will venture away from home to face off against Coshocton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Redskins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.92 runs per game on average), something the Scotties will no doubt try to take advantage of.
