Basketball Game Preview: White Pine Bobcats vs. GV Christian Guardians

The White Pine Bobcats will head out to square off against the GV Christian Guardians at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. White Pine will be strutting in after a win while GV Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

It was a proper cat-fight when White Pine duked it out withLaughlin on Saturday. White Pine simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Laughlin 51-22. The Bobcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

Brenley Skadburg continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 11 for 22 en route to 29 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Amaia Shedd, who posted six points along with five boards and three steals.

White Pine smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 12 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, GV Christian came up short against Lake Mead Christian Academy on Tuesday and fell 38-26.

White Pine has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.0 points per game. As for GV Christian, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Everything came up roses for White Pine against GV Christian in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 58-19 victory. Does White Pine have another victory up their sleeve, or will GV Christian turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
