Franklin County and South Dearborn are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Wildcats will be playing at home against the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Franklin County took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Batesville a 1-0 shutout.

Franklin County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Kruthaupt, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Dearborn). They put the hurt on Clarksville with a sharp 16-1 victory on Saturday. With that win, the Knights brought their scoring average up to 6.8 runs per game.

Conor Huff was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of South Dearborn's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Gabe Perry, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

South Dearborn always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Franklin County's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for South Dearborn, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.

Franklin County was able to grind out a solid win over South Dearborn in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, winning 7-3. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Knights turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
