Preview: Hartford Central Tanagers vs. Granville Golden Horde
Hartford Central is 1-7 against the Golden Horde since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hartford Central Tanagers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Granville Golden Horde at 1:00 p.m. Hartford Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 695th, while the Golden Horde are ranked 331st).
Hartford Central can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They strolled past Fort Ann with points to spare, taking the game 64-46.
Granville has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 52-41 to Warrensburg on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Granville has scored all season.
Hartford Central's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for Granville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.
Hartford Central came up short against the Golden Horde when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 64-55. Thankfully for Hartford Central, Caleb Nelson (who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
