Baseball Game Preview: Hamilton Southeastern Royals vs. Hamilton Heights Huskies

The Hamilton Southeastern Royals will take on the Hamilton Heights Huskies at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last three games Hamilton Southeastern has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Friday, Hamilton Southeastern didn't have quite enough to beat Noblesville and fell 11-10. The defeat continues a trend for the Royals in their meetings with the Millers: they've now lost four in a row.

Jackson Bixler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Hamilton Southeastern is 3-1 when Bixler posts two or more runs, but 6-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Wolf, who earned three runs and three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, Hamilton Heights was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 6-2 to Shelbyville.

Hamilton Heights' defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Hamilton Southeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Hamilton Southeastern has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Hamilton Heights struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Hamilton Southeastern took their win against Hamilton Heights when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 8-2 score. Do the Royals have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
