Metter is a perfect 6-0 against Claxton since September of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. Metter will look to defend their home field against Claxton at 7:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Metter is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 31 points last Friday, they were much more limited against Emanuel County Institute on Friday. They were dealt a 34-6 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Metter didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jaden Williams and Kasi Johnson.

Meanwhile, Claxton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by Bryan County 42-7.

Claxton's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Metter, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Everything came up roses for Metter against Claxton when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 42-0 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Claxton's Jontarrius Calhoun, who rushed for 127 yards while picking up 7.5 yards per carry.
