Vernon entered their tilt with Gordon on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 49-37 victory over the Gordon Longhorns.

Marhianna Johnson was the offensive standout of the contest as she went 6 of 7 on her way to 15 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Key'Maria Mcbride, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Vernon has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. As for Gordon, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Vernon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 67-25 win against Poolville on the 28th. As for Gordon, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 57-30 loss against Mineral Wells on the 27th.
